MORTISE AND TENON JOINERY
has long been considered the ultimate method to use for building furniture,
cabinets and doors that are strong, solid and dependably long lasting.
While hand-cut mortise and tenons will probably always remain the pinnacle of fine
woodworking, methods of cutting them using machines have evolved to allow shops to
increase the scale of production when manpower is limited.
Festool's Domino machine, first introduced in 2007, set a new standard for efficient
floating tenon joinery. The Domino XL, introduced in 2012, super-sized the original Domino
concept, expanding its applications to larger scale projects.
Here are several video reviews of the Festool Domino machines in action. We invite you to
consider whether one of them might make a good addition to your workshop.
