Here's My Shop!

I started woodworking about 35 years ago in a basement woodshop. Five years ago I completed my
current backyard woodshop. It is 20X32. I find the size is large enough for all my power tools
plus an area for hand work and assembly, but it is small enough to force me not to allow clutter to
accumulate. The shop is well insulated and heated and cooled by a small heat pump that does a
wonderful job even at zero degrees. There is also access to cable, telephone and internet.
I build with kiln dried cherry, walnut and oak that I buy from small local sawmills
at reasonable prices. My method is a combination of machines and hand tools. The
pieces I have made in the past year have been commissioned by local churches and
family members.
