Woodturner Resolutions

Woodturner
2013, time for those new year resolutions. Here are a few I have tried over the years.
-
Go to the shop and turn something everyday for a week.
-
Turn as many of one item up to the point of insanity. (I did 75 at one time before I ran from my shop screaming.)
-
Take two objects and see how closely you can duplicate them.
-
Start each time in the shop by doing a run of beads and coves on some scrap wood. Throw them in a box and every so often take them out and make a sculpture.
-
Try turning as many new woods as you can find. (I turned a limb from a rosemary shrub once.)
-
See how small a bowl you can turn. (Really causes you to focus.)
All this fun will make you a better turner and you'll have a feeling of accomplishment.
