My name is Bob Ducharme and I live in Pelham, NH, where I have a basement workshop in my house. My love for woodworking goes back 40 years. In that time I have created many pieces from reproduction clocks to fine furniture. Only recently within the last 5 years have I been woodturning. It all started when my father-in-law gave me his old lathe and some turning tools. It wasn't long after that when I discovered the need for better tools, and with that I started turning simple bowls.
My favorite items to turn are bowls with square edges. They have a very unique look and can be a challenge to turn. I will usually get a "how did you do that" when people see them. I like this style of bowl because I can turn them in many different ways: corners up, corners down, three sides, five sides, eight sides and everything in between. I like turning unique and useful items such as bangle bracelets, eye makeup brushes, wine glasses with hand turned stems, and jewelry and ring bowls. I try and use re-claimed lumber whenever possible for all my projects. I hope you enjoy my work and are inspired to try something different in your own turning adventures.
