Here's My Stuff!

The Longleaf Pine for this table was reclaimed from beams that were used to build the 159 year
old "Pandora Sweater Factory". According to Wikipedia the trees were 100-200 years old at maturity.
We removed all the nails (or so we thought) and had the sawyer remove a 1/2 inch all the way around the
9" x 16" x 8'-0" beams, then had them re-sawn to 1" boards and 3" x 4" leg stock. The main pedestal
is 38" long and made up of 3 parts, due to the fact that my '1952' Shop Smith 10Er only handles a
30" spindle. The bow ties hide existing pipe holes in the beams. The top is 30" in diameter and
7/8" thick. At this point the pine has only been given a seal cote of shellac.
We also made a few additional items from the reclaimed boards. We are making a "Document Box"
table (see pictures below) for next to a side chair or couch as well as a few Early American candle
lanterns. Both of these items were made of white pine from the Pandora beams. These beams were the
16" x 16" x 8'-0" mentioned above. The white pine beams are from the same time period.
