Here's My Woodcarving!

by Elizabeth Anderson
Concord, Illinois

My husband Ed and I have lived and worked on the family farm for over 35 years. My creations originate from the resources of the farm, and include one-of-a-kind woodcarvings, prairie grass weavings and many unique artworks.

My most recent woodcarving is that of a mammoth. For a woodcarving, it is indeed mammoth in size (20" tall x 30" long x 12" wide) and was created from 15 walnut pieces from a fallen log. The tusks are made from deer antlers. The antlers determined the carving dimensions, and I did research in order to make the mammoth's shape anatomically accurate.

I'm currently working on a life-size chicken.
