Here's My Woodcarving!

I've been carving for 25 years. I started carving decoys as a hobby - I really enjoy the challenge.

Doing commissioned carvings keeps me busy.

I enjoy a variety of subjects, from Birds of Prey, Song Birds, Decorative Decoys to walking sticks, although the Birds of Prey remain my favourite. The Eagle below was a 6 month project, and I can't imagine doing another one like that very soon.

I look forward to teaching carving during the fall and winter months.

Most of my birds are life size, and carved from one piece of wood. The decoys are usually carved with the head joined separately.

I am mostly self taught. I've taken painting lessons but learned carving mostly by trial and error.
