Here's My Woodworking!

I’m a hobbyist woodworker building and designing mostly craft projects that I sell at art and craft fairs. I have an art and design background and am currently a graphic designer, which I try to incorporate into my woodworking, creating original pieces using a mixture of exotics and non-traditional materials like plywood, metals and ‘found objects’.
Back in March of 2011 I was looking to get some of my photography professionally framed for an art show. I was shocked at the cost and thought I could do it myself. I went out and bought a miter saw, started watching all the woodworking shows on TV and YouTube and it just took off out of control from there. I never did make those picture frames but it changed my life.
I make a lot of small boxes using a combination of exposed plywood edges and exotic woods. I think the two contrast each other nicely.
"Fresno" Bandsaw box made from rosewood and plywood. Finished with boiled linseed oil and wipe-on poly.
"Ohio" Bandsaw box made from Purple heart and plywood. Finished with boiled linseed oil and wipe-on poly.
"Tennessee" Bandsaw box made from rosewood and plywood. Finished with boiled linseed oil and wipe-on poly.
"Chicago" Bandsaw box made out of purple heart and plywood. Finished with boiled linseed oil and wax.
"Chicago" Bandsaw box made from bolivian morando rosewood and plywood. Finished with a boiled linseed oil/wipe-on poly/mineral spirits mix and wax. The drawer is lined with black flocking.
End grain cutting board made from purple heart and maple. Finished with butcher's block oil and wax.
Pencil holder made from spalted maple and walnut. Finished with pure tung oil and wax.
Super Mario made out of leopard wood, maple, walnut and red oak. 170 total pixels, each 1" x 1" with a 45 degree bevel on all 4 sides to add depth and attention to every piece. Mounted on red oak plywood and framed with walnut. Finished with a blend of boiled linseed oil and polyurethane. Includes picture framing hardware so it's ready to hang.
Ohio wall hanging. Red oak and purple heart. Finished with wipe-on poly.
