Ask the Staff
Question:
Do you have any tension guidelines for the Wood Slicer blades? We do have a blade tension meter.
Thanks,
Larry Sprinkle
Answer:
Larry
While the blade can take high tension, it is always best to use an amount of tension that gets adequate cutting results and no more. Extra tension just makes for more stress to the blade and all of the components of the band saw.
The Wood Slicer is designed to operate from 15,000 to 25,000 PSI.
From what I have read of consumer grade tension gauges, they are somewhat inconsistent and not as accurate a tool as one would hope for. Use a good dose of common sense, along with the read outs a tension gauge gives you.
