5S In The Woodworking Shop – A Learning Opportunity
Click on any picture to see a larger version.
Regular readers and folks that have watched my Shop Tour videos know that I am a big proponent of 5S-Lean and the dramatic impact it can have for woodworkers… more shop space, more shop time, and money savings to boot.
Many, many folks have asked that I share more about my adaptation of the key cornerstone 5S principles of Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain, and I am pleased to announce that a full 5S woodworking course is now available. Teamed up with Popular Woodworking, we have created a new class starting August 13, part of their Popular Woodworking University educational series. The self-paced class is roughly three hours in total length, spread over three weeks. Each weekly class is broken into two or three segments, so attendees can take the class segments according to their individual scheduling needs. Access to the class is fast and easy through your computer or tablet.

Class cost is $59.99 and includes all eight recorded segments, downloadable course materials, helpful process graphics and flow charts, photos, helpful hints, and more. There is also a discussion forum where you can get answers to questions related to your specific shop set-up or share your personal success stories. I look forward to seeing you in class!
