I have been woodworking for 30 years as a hobby.
My wife and I collaborate on woodworking and we build furniture for ourselves and for our 7 children and 18 grandchildren. I build the piece of furniture and sand it, and then my wife applies the finish. The finish can be anything from
Tung oil to water based Poly, depending on the piece.
My shop is 1000 square feet. My principal Machines are:
-
10" Powermatic Table Saw
-
Felder Z 700 Shaper
-
Grizzly 8" Jointer
-
Delta 20" Planer
-
Delta 14" Band Saw
-
Makita 10" Sliding Linear Bearing Crosscut/Miter Saw
-
Floor Standing Drill Press
-
Sears Compressor
-
Grizzly Central Dust Collector
-
Festool hand power tools
There is no separate finishing area. When a piece is ready for finish we clean the shop and my wife takes over to apply the finish.
