With Halloween on the way, Roy Underhill has been dying to show you how to make a proper plain pine box! Roy has dug up long-buried plans for traditional coffin-making and will demonstrate the process from RIP-ing out the boards, to bevel-nailing the ends, to kerfing the sides and then bending them round with a kettle of boiling water. Join in Saturday to learn coffin-making with Roy so you won't make a grave mistake that might come back to haunt you!

We will also have demonstrations of the popular Easy Wood Tool line, as well as Highland instructor, Grant Lutz, demonstrating green woodworking on a shave horse.

CLASS: The Dovetail Variations
taught by Roy Underhill

For a full Sunday this October, at our store in Atlanta, Roy presents "The Dovetail Variations" ­ a day of dovetails, from the familiar to the vaguely disturbing! From half and full blind to the impossible miter­ended rising dovetail skirt joint (whew!), Roy will explore the keystone element of joinery in a range of surprising forms and functions. NOTE: This workshop just covers dovetails. If you want to learn about pins, that is an extra charge for another day. (Yes, the bad jokes are included!) So join us as Roy ruminates, elaborates, deliberates, and celebrates the interlocking and intersecting intricacies of the dovetail and forever puts to rest the long­held fact that tails do come first, but sometimes right after pins!
