I got started in woodworking about 7 years ago as a hobby. I initially started when I made a small rocking chair for my daughter, Olivia. Most of the things I make are for friends and family members. I made a toy chest for my second daughter, Sophia and a chessboard table for my son, Luke.
I continue woodworking as time permits. I make a lot of chessboards and cutting boards. I recently made a desk, which was my first attempt at mortise and tenon joinery and it was a great experience. I am currently making an outdoor bench and bed for my son.
I am in Tampa and my shop simply consists of jobsite table saw, sliding miter saw, planer, dust collector and air cleaners. All the tools break down for storage so I don't think it could be considered a true wood shop. I thoroughly enjoy woodworking and learning new techniques as time progresses.
